Summer 1993

25 Feb 2019 - 3 Mar 2019

6-year-old Frida goes to live with her uncle’s family in Carla Simón’s autobiographical first feature.

A vivid portrait of a light-filled summer when a little girl faces the loss of her mother and integration into a new closeknit family. Avoiding sentimentality, the film explores Frida’s conflicting emotions as she struggles to understand her new circumstances despite the generosity and benevolence of her new family.

Director: Carla Simón. Stars: Laia Artigas, Paul Blanco, Etna Campillo, Bruna Cusi. Duration: 100 minutes. Rated PG.

Films screen in the Hazelhurst theatrette every Monday at 6.30pm, Thursday at 11am & 2pm,  and Sunday at 2pm for members of the Hazelhurst Film Club.
