Prismacolor pencils on paper, plaster of Paris, recycled metallic washers and watch pieces
Bee-littled draws attention to the declining number of bees, towards the point of extinction. Society is neglecting to care for the smallest creatures that are essential for the survival of our species. It is estimated that one-third of the food we consume each day relies on pollination, mainly by bees. My body of work uses realistic pencil sketches coupled with precious recycled metal and sculptural concrete hand gestures to acknowledge that bees are dying from a variety of factors. The truth is we know humans are responsible for the two biggest causes: pesticides and habitat loss.
