In focusing on the minimalist, monotonous photography in Find Me, viewers are forced to reflect on their perception of beauty. A multidimensional and unrecognisable environment of white and grey quiet solitude compels the audience to consider their own response to simple beauty. Find Me delves into the appeal of simplicity while also acknowledging hidden and unappreciated segments of space. Justine Varga was my original source of inspiration. Varga captured my curiosity and interest through Lightform 7 (still) (2009), allowing the use of light in an imperfect environment to transform space into an atmosphere filled with intensity and attraction. The thematic similarities of Carl Andre and the movement of MetaHism also inspired me to present a work that allows the audience to form their own opinions when provided with very few ideas or materials.
