Absent Friends is a collection of prints that provokes us to examine the impact of Australian settlement on the habitat of our native birds. As settlement in Australia has expanded much has been destroyed, with birds driven to extinction. Much has been taken for granted, and gone without notice. Now we ask ourselves – where have our 'friends' gone?

ARTEXPRESS is a joint venture of the NSW Department of Education and the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW, hosted by Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre.
