After Archibald is an exploration of my identity and a projection of the lofty success as an artist everyone hopes for during their HSC Visual Arts year. The portraits I have appropriated reflect different aspects of my personality and were done by artists I admire. The single artwork that I completed as a true self-portrait shows my current world – me as a student, in the layout of a traditional school photo. The Archibald Prize was a source of inspiration for me as it is the pinnacle of contemporary portraiture, which is my main area of interest.
