22 Jun 2019 - 23 Jun 2019
A two day collage workshop with Deborah Kelly.
Learn how to make collages that revisit history with Deborah Kelly, currently exhibiting in RocoColonial at Hazelhurst.
Old books are the legacy of obsolete culture: in this workshop students will eviscerate them and build glorious new messages for the future from their remains.
The tutor, Deborah Kelly, explores ideas of gender, power and privilege and rethinks our understanding of visual culture. Kelly uses familiar and pop-cultural motifs and creates through her unique collage technique a new world of imagery, which is both beautiful and disturbing. Kelly often reinterprets and releases the central figure of Western art: the female nude.
Cost: $168. Class takes place from 10am - 3pm on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June 2019.
Limited places available. Book early to avoid disappointment. Information on how to enrol in this class can be found on our Art Classes page.
