Integrating Print into Mixed Media Artmaking
20 Oct 2019 - 20 Oct 2019
Expand the boundaries of your practice, combining print with both traditional and non-traditional artmaking mediums to make artworks on paper.
This workshop is ideally suited for those interested in mixed media artmaking on paper. Experience with making lino block prints is not necessary.
The class will be divided into 2 sections:
- Experimentation with block printing.
- Integrating the experimental material produced into a resolved artwork.
The tutor, Christine Druitt-Preston, is a full time artist, and has exhibited her prints in the 2018 Cairns Inkmasters Print Award, Fremantle Print Award, Hornsby Art Prize, and the 2017 Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award, Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize and Gippsland Print Award.
She has been a Secondary Visual Arts Teacher, NSW Department of Education, and a Teacher of Art & Design, TAFE, with 33 years of experience.
In March 2018 Druitt-Preston was Artist in Residence in the Nancy Fairfax Studio, Tweed Regional Gallery, Murwillumbah. She will exhibit at Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Centre Boyd Gallery from 27 September to 17 November 2019. Her solo exhibition Variations on a Theme – New Connections was exhibited at the Willoughby Incinerator Art Space, 2018.
Cost: $117.00. Class takes place from 10am - 4pm on Sunday 20 October 2019.
