Doing It Differently Grant

Doing It Differently (DID) is a joint community grants program between Sutherland Shire Council and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. DID aims to improve community health and well-being, enhance levels of trust and understanding, and build healthy, strong and connected communities.

DID has taken the community development approach known as Asset Based Community Development (ABDC) to focus on abilities, aspirations and potential rather than problems and deficits. This positive and engaging approach aims to discover and mobilise resources already present in the community. The ABCD approach encourages applicants to shift their mindset from focusing on needs and deficiencies, to considering assets, resources and possibilities to enhance positive outcomes.

How to Apply

Grants of up to $10,000 per project are being offered to local, not for profit organisations that are based in Sutherland Shire and provide services to our residents. Limit of 2 appliations per organisation.

DID aims to make the application process simple and accessible for everyone. The short one page application form can be completed by hand or online and submitted via email or hand delivered to Council's Admin Building.

A copy of the application form is available in the Program Guidelines. Please review the gudelines for more details as well as expected program outcomes and eligibility.

If you have any questions please contact Council's Commuity Development and Grants Advisor, Vanessa Zanotti, on 9710 0602 or via email at communities@ssc.nsw.gov.au
