Sutherland Shire Youth Network
The Sutherland Shire Youth Network (SSYN) is a collaboration between council, community services and local organisations who support young people in the local community.
The SSYN meets on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss activities, programs and opportunities for young people.
The SSYN aims to:
- Improve information sharing amongst local service providers.
- Strengthen collaboration and partnerships between services and government departments.
- Allow a coordinated approach to youth advocacy and lobby for youth issues.
- Enable coordinated planning of future directions and projects.
Membership is open to anyone supporting young people in the Sutherland Shire.

Project Youth is a not for profit organisation that works with at risk youth and their families across the Sutherland Shire and St George area. They have drop in centres at Menai, Kurnell and Miranda. Check out Project's Youth's website to see the services and programs they run (includes counselling, youth events, alcohol awareness education, mentoring, case work, youth resource information).
headspace is the national youth health foundation to help out young people who are having a tough time. headspace offers services to young people such as mental health counselling support, education and employment support, alcohol and other drug services and sexual health services.
