Am I eligible for government fee relief?
MOOSH is an approved form of care. The Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate is available to eligible families. Check on www.mychild.gov.au to calculate any CCB eligibility. Regardless of what percentage a family is entitled to, there will always be a gap fee payable.
Families who find themselves in financial hardship may have access to temporary fee relief visit www.mychild.gov.au for details of eligibility criteria and search under “Special Child Care Benefit”.
MOOSH provides a relaxed and fun environment which supports your child’s ability to be independent, develop friendships and make choices.
The children engage in new experiences and pursue their own interests. With a focus on educational and recreational activities, your child’s interests and capabilities are recognised, encouraged and respected by the team when planning programs. We value the importance of family and encourage their involvement in all areas of the program.
The program is displayed at MOOSH’s Family Information Area. Examples include arts, crafts, group games, cooking, sports, dance, drama and small reading groups. MOOSH recently upgraded its sports equipment with new resources including bocce, croquet, rhythmic gymnastics, pop-up soccer goals and (for rainy afternoons) indoor ten pin bowling. New books have also recently been purchased to reflect the children’s current literary interests.
MOOSH also places a great emphasis on sustainability programs. The children have actively and eagerly participated in this learning, discussing and articulating their own environmentally friendly visions.
MOOSH is staffed by a carefully selected team of qualified childcare professionals. Our team members also participate in ongoing education and care training workshops run by Sutherland Shire Council to ensure their knowledge remains among the industry’s best. Importantly, our MOOSH team is highly energetic and enjoys interacting with the children and facilitating the many activities available during the mornings and afternoons.
Council also employs a dedicated team of Compliance and Quality Specialists to oversee safety and quality at our MOOSH centre. Our specialists are experts in standards, regulations and legislation which govern the school age care industry. We do this to ensure we offer children the highest quality care facility.
Nutritional food is provided at both morning and afternoon sessions. The weekly menu is displayed in the Family Information Area. Dietary requirements are also catered for and these should be discussed at the time of enrolment.
Casual bookings can be made at the centre 24 hours in advance. Bookings are dependent on centre numbers and staff ratios.
