My Family Day Care service has been operating in partnership with Sutherland Shire Council for 25 years. In that time I’ve provided high quality early education and care to more than 170 local children.
After moving to Australia many years ago with my family and young children, my Family Day Care journey began. I relished the opportunity to use the early childhood skills from my days as a preschool teacher in my native Bangladesh.
Within my service I enjoy very strong and collaborative connections with families. Some of them have even attended my own children’s weddings!
It’s always rewarding when I to run into former families at Westfield and mums proudly stop me to show off the children I cared for as babies. It gives me the greatest satisfaction, knowing that in some way I contributed to the wonderful adults they have become.
I am a mother to two impeccably mannered and kind adult children. These two qualities are so important for life, and I hope that all of the children in my service learn these qualities I model for them every day.
About my service
My service provides children with a warm, caring and quality environment which fosters their development and love of learning.
I am incredibly passionate about early childhood and forging strong and trusting relationships with families. I welcome and encourage family involvement in my service, from sharing insights into their children’s current interests to home-based activities which can be extended to learning projects within the Family Day Care environment.
Within my service I place a great focus on teaching children the all-important social skills needed for the school playground. For example, learning to share, take turns and work together, and also learning when and how to ask for help, are vital learned skills for children .
We offer the children a wonderful variety of learning and play experiences – reading, songs, stories, rhyme, music, culture, gross motor play development and craft, to name a few.
The children in my service enjoy a nurturing environment where they are valued and cared for as individuals. We work with each family to ensure their child experiences quality learning every day.
About my facilities
The outdoors features a natural grassed area ideal for climbing, balancing, water play and gardening fun.
We also have a large covered space providing ample shade and space for group time, quiet play, reading, craft and drawing.
My service is a safe environment for children and is easily accessible via the Princes Highway in Sylvania (less than one minute’s drive from this main road).
