My Family Day Care service has been providing an outstanding level of early education and care to local children for almost 20 years. I take great pride in my service, and have a strong passion for working with families to ensure their children have access to the most nurturing and engaging learning and care environment.
My love of helping children to develop and learn only grows as each year passes. One of things I’m most proud of in my business is the wide range of learning and play experiences offered to the children. No child gets ‘lost in the crowd’ and all play an important role in the day’s curriculum.
On a personal level, I love being a mum to my four grown children - Lynda, Nik, Steven and David.

About my service
Renata’s Family Day Care offers children a high quality environment designed to stimulate and empower them to play and learn. The intimate setting enables all children and their families to feel valued and respected.
We very much work in partnership to achieve the best outcomes for your child.
Each child in my care holds a very special place in my heart. Our daily experiences and routines promote all areas of their development – social/emotional, physical, cognitive, language/literacy and self-help skills. Our play based program is responsive to each child’s interests, strengths and abilities. We create a sense of being, belonging and becoming, enabling all children to flourish.
All learning outcomes are guided by the industry’s national standard, The Early Years Learning Framework. I offer learning experiences that both engage and reward, not only benefiting the children in care but also feeding my passion and aspiration to be that Educator who makes a difference.
The children’s days are filled with some of the best play and learning experiences offered within early education and care. The children participate in many engaging activities including creative arts, craft, outdoor free play, group time, story time, games and a range of incursions and excursions.
Some of the recent activities experienced by the children include:
- Using natural materials to make their own ‘upcycled’ boats, and enjoying learning about the properties of floating and sinking.
- Outdoor nature scavenger hunts. Combining children’s curiosity and their love of nature and the outdoors, they looked for and located everything from bugs and butterflies to spider webs and sand.
- Threading leaves (early math concepts)
- Indoor camping adventures
- Enjoying opportunities to work on their gross motor skills with some outdoor fun including climbing and balancing.
- One family brought in a favourite book and activity which the children loved. ‘Mr Frosty’ was read, and the children enjoyed creating him and watching him ‘melt’.
Some additional activities the children are frequently offered include:
- Nature walks & park visits
- Community participation
- Cultural celebrations
- Calendar events
- Learning a second language
- Story time at our local library
- Health & wellbeing
- Sustainable practice
Our daily program encompasses learning through play with:
The children in my care also regularly attend Council’s combined Play Session facility, where Family Day Care Educators and the children in their care experience a larger shared learning environment. At Play Session recently, the children were immersed in all things space and science, where they learnt all about the galaxy, planets and moon.
My service is registered with and regulated by Sutherland Shire Council’s Family Day Care Scheme. It is an extremely hands-on Scheme offering ongoing support and training.
About my facilities
Renata’s Family Day Care environment is specifically set up for curious minds.
Our indoor set up consists of a large light-filled room. We have eight learning centres set up at all times for the children to freely explore. We take great pride in our environment, ensuring children’s curiosity and intrigue is stimulated and strengthened.
With operating kitchen facilities, we are able to cater to hot or cold meals.
A separate sleeping room allows for babies and the very young to have morning and afternoon sleeps without being disturbed.
We also have a child-friendly toileting area including a kindy-sized toilet (we find this set-up is ideal for any child who may have anxieties associated with toilet training).
Our outdoor area consists of two levels. The upper concrete level features climbing equipment, ride on bikes and track, mulched nature play area with stepping stones and play kitchen, along with the morning sun.
The lower area is covered with a large shade sail. A lush grassed area is complimented with a garden, sandpit, cubby house, climbing equipment, tunnel play, stepping stones, Zen area, learning areas, reading corner, craft table and of course the afternoon sun.
We respect our planet and recycle at every opportunity.

"It just doesn't get better than Renata - I was lucky to get her for my first child in 2011 (she stayed in Renata's care for 3 years), and purposely waited until she had a vacancy to put my second child in care. She puts an incredible amount of thought and preparation into her environment and daily programs for the kids. She is loving, dynamic and you can tell she loves her job, which means the kids LOVE her." Lindsey.
"I cannot speak highly enough to describe Renata. The care, creativity and love she has for not only my child, but the other children in her care is beyond what you would expect. My son comes home with a massive smile on his face and as soon as I arrive he wants to be put down so he can play, or he puts out his arms for Renata to cuddle him. He has been in Renata's care since he was 5 months old and I just love the photos and updates you get along the way. There are girls in my mothers group who are so envious that I have found her. I feel blessed that my son is so well taken care of." Sarah
"Renata is a wonderful educator with many years experience. Her Family Day Care is a calm and nurturing environment where everyone is treated with dignity. When my 11 month old started in care, Renata went above and beyond to educate herself with regards to my daughter's allergy and nothing was too much trouble. She provides age appropriate and stimulating activities and is very flexible with adapting to each child's interests/needs. I wish I had discovered Renata's Family Day Care years ago when I was looking for care options for my older daughter." Sally
"My son was so attached to me that I was super anxious about starting care. I knew when I entered Renata's Family Day Care that it was for us. Harrison adjusted so well because he was loved and cared for by Renata while kept busy with activities. The environment is stimulating and Renata is so creative with new ideas for play-based learning. She also takes the kids on excursions often. Harrison just loves it! I feel that he learns so much more than I can teach him at Renata's and I do not feel guilty about working and leaving my son in care." Carly.
