I am originally from Fiji and have spent a substantial amount of time living and studying for my tertiary qualification in Australia. After pursuing a commercial lifestyle for over a decade, in 2002 I discovered the childcare industry, providing me with the opportunity to have a more challenging and embracing life. Since then I have never looked back. My days caring, nurturing and educating the children in care are very fulfilling and rewarding.
About my service
At Kiran’s Family Day Care, my philosophy is centered on the premise of providing an educational environment that prioritises feelings of trust, respect and security for the children and their families. A family friendly, happy atmosphere, positive self esteem and foundations of life skills underline the values of my care environment. Families using my education and care service have an alternate family for a lifetime.
In a mixed group environment that is Family Day Care, each unique child is given equal opportunity to develop their maximum potential through interactive play and age appropriate learning experiences that are varied, fun and challenging. Every child in my care will be positively guided in their social, physical, intellectual and emotional development. Their individual interest will form the foundation of their education program. Each child’s learning will surround the principles, practices and learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework.
About my facilities
The entire downstairs area of my home is dedicated to Family Day Care. Children have the benefit of plenty of space and exclusive rights to the day care toys and amenities. A separate play room and a quiet activity room, three sleeping areas that suits the sleeping arrangements between younger and older children, plenty of storage facilities for nappies, wipes and other necessities, a change room and toilet and washing facility and facilities for food preparation including cooling and warming food. The rooms are well ventilated and well facilitated with heating and cooling. The day care area meets all safety regulations of a centre. The play areas in my service boast many learning centres, meeting all areas of growth and development and each centre reflects the children's interests.
