Council is the largest childcare provider in the Sutherland Shire, with more than 1,400 children enrolled in our various services including:
Council has been operating childcare centres and services for more than 40 years.
We have a long and strong history of caring for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, along with primary and secondary school children in Out of School Hours Care services.
Safe, nurturing environments
We deliver fun and engaging learning programs in safe environments which are fully compliant with industry regulations. Our Safety and Compliance Specialists oversee quality, safety and compliance with industry regulations at every Council childcare location.
Many of our services have also been independently rated by the industry's governing body as 'exceeding' the industry's National Quality Standards.
Our Educators are nurturing, engaging and extremely committed to the children in their care. They form close bonds with the children and their families, adopting a partnership approach with families to deliver the best outcomes for every child.
Programs and school readiness
Education, incorporating academic and life skills, occurs from the moment a child walks through our doors. Babies, infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers experience age appropriate learning on a daily basis. The children learn through play and our Educators plan intentional, play-based learning experiences and investigations that incorporate children's learning goals.
Not for profit
Unlike private childcare providers, Council's childcare services do not make a profit. Fees are reinvested back into the services, to fund upgrades and initiatives such as new playgrounds.
Applying for care
Our Early Education Centres and Family Day Care program accept children into care from birth.
