
What is Development Enquirer?
Development Enquirer searches the SSLEP 2006, SSDCP 2006 and SEPP (Kurnell Peninsula) 1989 for the relevant planning controls for your proposed development.
Select the property/s you wish to develop, and the proposed use/s from the list provided. Development Enquirer will search for and identify the relevant development controls that apply to your proposal.
Information you need before you start Development Enquirer
You will require the correct details of the:
- property street address(es) or Lot and DP
- type of proposed development (eg. demolition, dwelling, change of use etc).
What controls does Development Enquirer identify for my application?
Development Enquirer will give you the applicable planning controls for the land parcel(s) and the uses selected. You can select multiple uses for one proposal.
It is important that all uses relating to the proposed development are selected so that Development Enquirer can provide all of the applicable controls. eg. if your proposal includes a new dwelling, swimming pool and deck, all three uses must be selected.
What controls are covered by Development Enquirer?
The relevant controls are those within the following plans:
- Sutherland Shire Local Environment Plan 2006
- Sutherland Shire Development Control Plan 2006
- State Environmental Planning Policy (Kurnell Peninsula) 1989
- any applicable Section 94 Plans.
What isn't covered by Development Enquirer?
The following uses and plans are not available in Development Enquirer:
- controls for Exempt and Complying Development
- any Deferred and Excluded Land under any planning instrument
- proposals relying on existing use rights
- Development Control Plans prior to 29 November 2006
- Other State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPPs) and Regional Environmental Planning Polices (REPs).

While a use may be shown as permissible on a parcel of land in Development Enquirer, this does not guarantee approval of a Development Application. It is recommended that professional advice is sought in addition to using the information available in Development Enquirer.
