Thirty years on from the cult surfie movie Puberty Blues, Made in the Shire is the product of Sydney-based artist Emma Thomson's residency at Hazelhurst. Seeking models in the papers, the advertisements attracted some of the Shire's desperate romantics and high school sweethearts who were all willing participants in the collaborative process.
