Volunteer
Volunteering at the gallery is a great way to meet new people and engage in art in new and stimulating ways whilst giving back to the community.
Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre greatly appreciates the efforts of our volunteers. We currently benefit from the generosity of approximately 90 volunteers, and we are always ready to welcome anyone willing to contribute to the successful running of the Gallery and Arts Centre.
Hazelhurst volunteers assist by staffing our Regional Gallery reception desk, the Hazelhurst Shop and providing administrative assistance. We are also able to provide volunteers the opportunity to assist with our education and public programs. A number of Hazelhurst volunteers conduct tours during each exhibition under our volunteer guiding program.
Hazelhurst volunteers are afforded the opportunity to visit other museums and galleries, they receive a preview of each exhibition prior to the official opening and host an annual fundraising event to raise money for cancer research.
Volunteer Guides
Hazelhurst is currently seeking new volunteer guides. Volunteer guiding at Hazelhurst involves leading members of the public through an exhibition and helping them to gain fresh insights and a better understanding of the artworks. Applications close 11 May 2012. For more information, and an application sheet, download the Guide Information Pack below. Please note, applicants must be able to attend all 8 of the training sessions commencing Tuesday 12 June.
