Australia Day at Cronulla

Sutherland Shire Council invites you to celebrate this Australia Day with family and friends at one of three locations around the Shire. Cronulla celebrations start at 1pm and finishes at 9pm with a Grand Fireworks Finale.

Train service

Trains on the Cronulla line run every 15 minutes until midnight on Sunday 26 January 2015. To look up timetables and plan your trip visit transportnsw.info or call 131500.

Secure taxi ranks

Cronulla - taxis will depart from the Kingsway, Cronulla at the end of the Plaza.
Sutherland - taxis will depart from Boyle Street, Sutherland from 9pm to 1am.

Food and beverages

In addition to the local cafés and restaurants, food and drink will be available for purchase from Cronulla Rotary who will be selling hot lamb rolls and sausage sandwiches.

All proceeds will go to the Australia Day charities Cronulla War Widow's Guild and Legacy.

Alcohol

Most parks and open spaces in Sutherland Shire are Alcohol Prohibited Areas.  Police and authorised council officers can tip out or confiscate alcohol.

In the park

Colbrow Medics will be available in the first aid tent.

Please bring low rise chairs only and picnic blankets to allow everyone to enjoy the view.

If you bring a BBQ to the event it must be kept away from paths and access ways. Please also check for fire restrictions on the day.

Set up

Council will commence set up for Australia Day at Cronulla Beach between 7am - 5pm Wednesday 21 - Sunday 25 January 2015. Pack down will be between 7am - 5pm Tuesday 27 - Wednesday 28 January 2015.
